BUE 441B

Chassis No. 0003

The very first car made by Reliant to carry the name Scimitar. This car is probably the best known SE4 Coupe in existence and has been featured in numerous books on the marque. A full history of this famous car is to be found in the “Articles” section. The car was acquired from Matt Greenly who was the RSSOC Coupe Registrar who unfortunately no longer had the time to spend with the car. Following much work including mechanicals and a full paint refinish BUE 441B remains very much as it was at the 1964 Earls Court Motor Show resplendent in its Golden Sands livery and tan and black interior. BUE 441B has featured at ScimFest twice recently and in 2024 celebrated the 60th anniversary of the launch of the Scimitar GT firstly at Curborough and then on the RSSOC stand at the NEC Classic car show in November. The car remains an important piece of motoring history that deserves to be kept in this country and made available for shows and exhibitions as well as being driven and enjoyed.
