EEN 873D

Car No. 00293
EEN 873D was one of the last 5 Straight Six SE4’s built and is possibly the next to last still remaining. (We are currently restoring 295). The car is without doubt the best restoration that we have seen undertaken by an owner. We purchased the car some years ago from a Classic Car Dealer in Sussex. The car had been well documented and featured within the RSSOC and it was a well known member who got the car in 1986 and began a full restoration starting with the chassis that was upgraded to SE4a spec and fully galvanized. The following years saw the body back on before EEN was sold to a fellow club member from Bromley Kent in 1999. What followed was the most fastidious rebuild of virtually everything else including a first class body refinish, specialist engine rebuild, complete interior trim, and new chrome work. In all the endeavor took over 10 years and there is a comprehensive record of all the work carried out by the very proud owner who put his own personal preferences into the undertaking. This included a hardwood dash instead of the formica, revised filler cap, fan belt cover etc. Again all done again to the highest standard. We have serviced, maintained and fine tuned the car including much work to the suspension which included bushes and a change to the front spring and dampers which were much too hard. EEN is a car that we would now happily get in and drive anywhere. This GT is more of a gentleman’s express rather than a racy sportscar and just eats up those long winding roads. Certainly one of our favorites which is probably why we have had it so long.
